Experienced Advocates Dedicated to Helping You Recover

Meet Attorney Norbert “Bert” Daniel Hummel, IV
Recognized as one of Georgia’s top lawyers year after year, Bert Hummel has dedicated his career to advocating for injury victims throughout the state. He handles a full range of personal injury cases, including car accidents, trucking collisions, slip and falls, negligent security, dog bites, workers’ compensation, wrongful death, and daycare injury matters.
Bert began his career at an AM Law 100 firm—one of the largest litigation firms in the country—where he represented insurance companies, employers, and major corporations. That experience gives him a powerful advantage today: he knows exactly how the other side evaluates, defends, and attempts to minimize claims.
This inside perspective allows him to anticipate defense strategies and position his clients’ cases for the strongest possible outcome.
Bert is widely recognized for his work inside and outside the courtroom. He has been honored by:
- Super Lawyers Magazine
- Best Lawyers Magazine
- Atlanta Magazine
- Georgia Trend
- The Daily Report
He has also served in numerous leadership roles, including:
- State Bar of Georgia Board of Governors
- Executive Committee Member (2019–2022)
- Vice-Chair, State Bar Bench and Bar Committee
- Past President, State Bar of Georgia Young Lawyers Division
- Georgia Trial Lawyers Association Executive Committee
- Mercer University School of Law Alumni Board
- Cobb County Bar Association Board of Trustees
- Chief Justice’s Commission on Professionalism
Bert is admitted to practice in all Georgia state and superior courts, the Georgia Court of Appeals, the Supreme Court of Georgia, multiple federal courts, and even the Supreme Court of the United States.
Bert serves as an Adjunct Professor at Mercer University School of Law, teaching settlement negotiations and strategy. He also dedicates countless hours each year to community outreach, service projects, and charitable initiatives across Georgia.
Born and raised in Alpharetta, Bert graduated from Milton High School before earning a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Georgia.
After working at the State Capitol and in nonprofit leadership roles, he earned his Juris Doctor from Mercer University School of Law, where he served as Vice-President of the Student Bar Association and was inducted into the Order of the Barristers for excellence in oral advocacy.
He lives in West Cobb with his wife, Christina, and their three children. When he’s not advocating for clients, Bert enjoys playing basketball and golf, and cheering on the Dawgs, Braves, Hawks, Falcons, and Atlanta United.
